Writer Matthew Borgatti has given the Goblin Theatre makeover treatment to the Rudolph Christmas story. With a clever script and non-stop entertainment, this wondrous adventure incorporates a feel-good story and great music.
‘The Ballad of Rudy’ features a small cast, two of whom play more than one of the charming characters. These include a Jazz Penguin, an Arctic Fox, a Washed Up Walrus, a Wise Owl and of course, Rudy himself.
Each of the actors are clearly accomplished musicians and Claude Deppa gives stunning vocal and trumpet performances. It is a great show to introduce youngsters to jazz and theatre, as audience participation is part of the show.
