Rosa Mexicano Review – Washington DC

The Rosa Mexicano is located across from the Capital One Arena in Washington DC. This Mexican restaurant has been dishing up cuisine from tat country for decades.

This is a clean and very beautiful establishment – really upper class Mexican. A huge window overlooks the street outside and it’s thus a great place for people watching as well as tucking in to some fine Mexican food.

It’s not a cheap place to eat – you get what you pay for – but it’s not expensive, either. The guacamole is made in front of you at your table. Now that’s fresh!

Serving staff are efficient and amiable without being intrusive. The menu has all of the classics that you have probably come to expect if you are familiar with this type of fare.

Starters can include tacos, salad, guacamole (freshly made with avocado, jalapeño, tomato, onion and cilantro as well as a side of vegetables), tortillas and chorizo based meals.

There’s also a menu for Young Amigos including hamburger sliders and chicken fingers. Something for everyone it seems – good idea!

For mains they have a lot of choice including enchiladas, carnitas, salad, tacos and puebla (e.g. chicken tinga) – all very delicious and authentically made.

Loads of choice for drinks, too. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including Mexican Coke! (Cola, that is)

Overall, a great little restaurant that I highly recommend.
