Pret a Manger in Petty Cury, Cambridge is a taste of the healthy, fresh, gourmet side of fast food take away restaurants with sandwiches and drinks being their main fare. Like the other restaurants in this chain which tend to near train stations, airports, and centres of shopping areas, this is in a handy central Cambridge city location.
The crayfish sandwiches are nice but are slightly heavy on the mayonnaise and salt. The bread of the baguette sandwiches is lovely, with tuna cucumber baguette a popular favourite.
Try the Pomegranate Hibiscus water drink which is delicious.
The “eating in” area is almost always fully taken up, as it is too small to service the number of visitors. The sandwiches are made fresh daily and spares from that day are given to the homeless at the end of the day.
