Montaz Newmarket Review

Address: 30 Old Station Road, Newmarket, CB8 8DN

It is fair to say that this restaurant is indeed contemporary and not your run-of-the-mill curry house. As far as Northern Indian and Punjabi Restaurants go, this is no ordinary one, either. It provides a twist on the traditional Indian Restaurant, with the menu including interesting dishes, such as north Indian garlic chilli chicken, as well as the conventional ones, like Korma and Madras. The naan bread offered consists of the regular types as well as more unusual ones such as Ginger and Honey naan.

Although the portion sizes are a bit smaller than those found in other restaurants, they are served to be satiable and not over-filling; a perfect serving size. However, if you like your larger portions, this may be an issue for you. The food was fairly quick and arrived hot temperature-wise. The Chicken Tikka Masala was very tasty, the Kurma could have done with some more taste as this was slightly bland, the rice was plenty for the sauce, and the naans were very buttery and melted in your mouth.

The parking is on the surrounding streets or there is a car park nearby. However, there is a short walk to the restaurant from these areas. The welcome and service were very personable, and the place seemed clean.
